Join our society as we walk across west Hackney from the leafy beauty of Canonbury to the ‘brutality’ of Bethnal Green riddled by the Kray twins. Iconic sights of the walk will include Canonbury Hall featured in Wolf Hall, Hugh Myddleton’s New River, elegant De Beauvoir Square, Regents Canal, Arnold Circus (London’s first council estate on the site of the country’s worst slum). The walk will end in the Blind Beggar pub on Mile End Road, where Ronnie Kray gunned down George Cornell in the 1960s – and no-one saw a thing!

A walk of contrasts through the life of the Kray twins in a little known slice of north east London.

Time: 2:00pm
