Following on from the highly successful JAS outing to Bletchley Park, let’s now break the code on the world’s favourite fictional character, James Bond 007.

Come on a walking tour with London Blue Badge tour guide Simon Rodway, through James Bond’s world, through London’s exclusive Mayfair and St James districts, ending in the bar at Dukes Hotel for a James Bond martini.

Author Ian Fleming, a former journalist, fought a damned good war. He served as a junior officer, the right hand man to Admiral Godfrey, head of Naval Intelligence. Ian relished all the cloak and dagger stuff, storing it away later for the character Bond. Fleming was a millionaire’s son, tastes that he passed onto his creation, including the cars, the tailoring, the hand guns and even the aftershave.

Meeting point: Southern exit of Marble Arch tube station
