JAS members gathered at the U.S. Embassy for the Society’s first Annual General Meeting on March 6, 2012.  The meeting was hosted by Deputy Cultural Attaché, Kate Bentley, who, as Returning Officer, also announced the results of the JAS Executive Committee Elections. Full details of the new Committee can be found on the Elections page.

The 2012 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund competition is now open! The AEIF offers $1,000,000 to help teams of alumni tackle some of the world’s most pressing issues.  Administered by the State Department’s Alumni Affairs Division, AEIF awards up to $25,000 per winning team. ENAM (European Network of American Alumni Associations) in cooperation with Amerigo, the Italian Cultural Exchange Programs Alumni Association, is organizing a conference for European alumni association leaders to officially launch and incorporate ENAM in Rome, Italy, on December 1-2, 2011.

The John Adams Society was delighted to welcome Spencer P Boyer, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasian Affairs who joined us to deliver the first JAS Annual Lecture entitled: “Foreign policy implications of multiculturalism: strategy and practice”.  The lecture took place at the Royal United Services Institute on 17 November, 2011.
